Fashion Karma!

OK, so I'm behind.

Obviously.

But among all the posts I'm trying/supposed to/wishing I could write, there's two that I'm absolutely dying to publish here. One is my fall fashion post for 2012, which is hands down my favorite post to write all year. (It also justifies the nonstop online browsing I've been doing for research purposes...no, J, I'm NOT "obsessively shopping", thank you very much...)

The other post is my BlogHer '12 wrap-up post, including my experience at Voices of the Year and video of my reading. I had so much to process from the conference (plus waiting for the video code so you all could share it with me) that the post is long overdue.

So this week, with E finally back in school (today!) I'm getting settled into a routine and checking items off my to-do list. Like buy diapers and organize the pantry, and write long overdue blog posts. And just when I started to do that...those two posts  I mentioned above? Collided.

I'm a huge fashion lover, and Possessionista is one of my favorite fashion blogs. Not only do I love Dana Weiss' personal style (and her hilarious 'Bachelor' commentary on Twitter,) but she watches a ton of TV (I watch almost none) and sources the best clothes and accessories out there so all I have to do is check my email for her posts once a day and I know what's happening in small screen style. Even better, she loves the same (trashy) shows I do actually watch when I have time, like 'The Bachelorette' and 'Gossip Girl' and 'Pretty Little Liars.' The Possessionista even helped me (via an old friend and a Twitter plea) find Emily Maynard's awesome phoenix necklace...

So when an item I've already blogged about, pinned, or own pops up on Possessionista.com, it pretty much makes my week.

Like last week, when a pair of Sam Edelman booties I'm totally obsessed with showed up on Pretty Little Liars actress Lucy Hale. Pinned these weeks ago. Already in my closet, thank you very much.
And then...

And then!

The necklace I wore to read at the Voices of the Year keynote? Showed up on her site.

TWICE!

At the VOTY reception with my blogging friend Jenna.
This particular necklace, from JCrew (first blogged about here) earned itself almost as many compliments as my reading itself. At the Voices of the Year reception following the keynote, I swear more people approached me to say "I really loved your...necklace!" than they did to comment on my piece. Which is fine...because I'm equally thrilled to be complimented on my fashion choices as I am on my writing :)

As it turns out, I really do have fabulous taste ;)

Because that necklace? Kinda went viral. First on Emily Maynard as she appeared to plead not guilty to the cheating rumors on Good Morning America...

Some of you are definitely reading this and thinking she's crazy, is it really that big a deal?

And for most of the world, nope...it's not.

But for this fashion-loving blogger and wannabe trendsetter?

It's AWESOME.

Total fashion karma...

  4. Beautiful necklace!!! I need a makeover too but what will it cost me? I'm too cheap or frugal, which sounds better? I need fashion on the cheap....

    1. Fashion on the cheap is one of my FAVORITE things! I'm available for personal consultations...but it sounds like in addition to a fall fashion post, I need to do a fall fashion on a budget piece! Off to start compiling options... :)
