Well, actually Fourth...just a day late. Because that's how I roll these days.
Hope everyone had a safe, happy and fun Independence Day! We had a blast swimming and BBQing with friends, and even got to watch some (through the trees and over a few power lines) fireworks. I woke E up and dragged her outside to see them...her very first ones. Definitely one of my favorite items from this summer's bucket list...
We stood on the front porch (with J and Baba) and watched the sky light up with sparkling lights. She was awed and terrified in equal measure. It was a really cool moment.

Feeling grateful for family, friends and country today. No better place in the world than the land of the free and the home of the brave...
Happy Birthday, America!

That's an awesome fireworks picture. I remember Caroline and Sam were both petrified of their first fireworks. Unhappily for me, it turned quickly to delight. I prefer the pretty lights on TV where I can barely hear the booms.
